Robert Chase Heishman is an artist working across photography, documentary, painting and video/film. His practice is concerned with the reality of physical situations in relation to the reality of images, and how personal, political, cultural and existential subject matter is inquired and explored. He works individually and collaboratively, placing value on experiential research and exchange, nuance, experimentation and chance as useful methods for arriving at new ideas and understandings.

Embellishing his artistic career are some of his most highlighted solo exhibitions and commissions including, “Image Workers”, at Elastic Arts (Chicago, IL), curated by Alyssa Brubaker, “Indefinite Free Time” at BWA Wrocław Główny Gallery, curated by Anna Mituś (Wrocław, Poland), “PLAY” at the Columbus Museum of Art (Columbus, OH) and “Split-Sides" with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Works made in collaboration with Merce Cunningham, Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Megan Schvaneveldt, and Michael Rakowitz have been shown both nationally and internationally.
